How to Use the Spinegear Rechargeable Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor
How to Use the Spinegear Rechargeable Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor
The Spinegear AXD-808 is designed for straightforward home blood pressure monitoring. This guide covers preparation, cuff placement, measurement and record keeping. For the complete monitoring process, including timing, interpreting readings and common errors, start with our Complete Guide to Home Blood Pressure Monitoring in the UK.
1. Check the cuff size
Measure your upper-arm circumference before use. The AXD-808 supplied cuff covers 22–42 cm. See our blood pressure cuff-size guide for measuring instructions.
2. Prepare before measuring
Sit quietly before taking a reading. Keep your back supported, feet flat on the floor and your arm supported around heart level. Avoid talking or moving while the monitor is measuring.
3. Fit the cuff
Place the cuff on your bare upper arm according to the positioning markings and instructions supplied with the monitor. It should be secure without being painfully tight.
4. Take the reading
Press Start and remain still while the cuff inflates and the measurement completes. The monitor displays systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and pulse. If you are unsure what the numbers mean, read Understanding Blood Pressure Readings.
5. Record and compare readings consistently
The AXD-808 provides separate memory for two users, with up to 99 stored readings per user. Follow the monitoring schedule recommended by your healthcare professional. Our guide to the best time of day to measure blood pressure explains why consistent timing matters.
Avoid common measurement errors
Cuff fit, posture, talking, recent activity and inconsistent timing can all affect a home reading. Review our 10 common blood pressure monitor mistakes before building your routine.
